Still can’t believe this happened. meeting the co-founder of Sketchup🥹
Last Friday, I had an incredible 1:1 call with Brad Schell, the co-founder of SketchUp, a tool that redefined how we think about 3D modeling.
Originally built for #architects, #SketchUp ended up in the hands of millions: designers, kids, consultants, and creators from every field. Brad shared stories from his journey, his mission to make 3D modeling accessible, intuitive, and joyful, and I was truly inspired. His humility and passion were contagious.
What resonated most was how closely his vision aligned with what we’re building at LYNEports. I shared with Brad how frustrating it was in my own career to piece together tools like Google Maps, plugins, regulations, and expensive software just to design a simple aviation project. Sometimes all I needed was a lightweight tool to help answer questions like:
📍 Where should I place this runway?
📏 What’s the minimum size needed for a #Boeing_747?
🌍 Are there any regulations I need to know for…
