Hackathon Winners Celebrate Innovation with LYNEports Vertiport Planning

Announcement

May 8, 2025 at 5:00:00 PM

Innovators from around the world came together for the Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) Hackathon, hosted by the Transportation Sustainability Research Center (TSRC) at UC Berkeley in collaboration with San Francisco International Airport (SFO). The event challenged participants to address real-world issues at the intersection of aviation, infrastructure, and sustainable transportation.

LYNEports Software in Action

As part of the Hackathon, participants also had access to LYNEports’ vertiport planning software, giving teams the ability to model and explore how future AAM infrastructure could be integrated into regional transportation systems.

Hackathon Winners

We’re proud to celebrate the winners who pushed the boundaries of what the future of flight can be:

First Place: Toby Enzerink & Toufik Ammoura, Second Place: Zhenglei Ji

Both winning teams rose to the occasion by addressing critical questions, including:

  • Forecasting future demand for AAM and its integration with regional and airport transportation systems.

  • Exploring the economic and financial viability of AAM in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Their submissions showcased the creativity, insight, and technical rigor that will help guide how electric and hydrogen aircraft, multimodal integration, and sustainable infrastructure evolve in the decades ahead.

Recognition and Thanks

A huge thank you to every participant for bringing bold ideas and data-driven solutions to the table. Your contributions highlight the collaborative spirit that will define the future of Advanced Air Mobility.

We also extend our gratitude to the experts and industry leaders who supported and judged the submissions it’s through these partnerships that innovation can truly take flight.

At LYNEports, we’re committed to providing the tools that help planners, operators, and innovators bring tomorrow’s aviation networks to life. Events like this Hackathon make clear that the future of mobility will be built through collaboration, experimentation, and visionary design.
