Company: Accura Engineering & Consulting Services, Inc. Location: Nashville, Tennessee (Work) | Birmingham, Alabama (Headquarters) Salary: $130,000 – $170,000 (Based on experience, discussed during interview)

About the Role:

Accura Engineering & Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a talented and experienced Aviation Architect to join our growing aviation projects team in Nashville, TN. This role will lead architectural design efforts for airport terminals and aviation facilities, focusing on both new construction and renovations. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with engineers, planners, and construction professionals to deliver innovative, functional, and efficient airport environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the architectural planning and design of airport terminals and aviation-related facilities from concept through construction.

  • Develop design concepts aligned with client goals, project budgets, and regulatory requirements.

  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including structural, MEP, civil, and specialty consultants.

  • Oversee preparation of design presentations, renderings, and construction documents.

  • Ensure compliance with FAA, TSA, ADA, and other regulatory standards.

  • Participate in site assessments, construction administration, and quality reviews.

  • Engage with clients and stakeholders to provide technical guidance and project updates.

  • Manage and mentor junior architects and designers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum 10 years of professional architectural experience, with strong emphasis on aviation/airport terminal design.

  • Proven experience in new construction and renovation of terminal or concourse facilities.

  • Registered Architect (RA) required.

  • Superior knowledge of FAA Airport Circulars, FAA funding guidelines, and airport design/construction processes.

  • Experience with airside/landside planning, passenger flow, and terminal modernization projects.

  • LEED accreditation or sustainability design experience desirable.

  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and related design software.

  • Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills.

  • Strong understanding of building codes, airport design standards, and project delivery methods.
