Expodronica Air Show

Last week at the Expodronica Air Show 2025, I talked about LYNEports in two panels that really got to the heart of where Advanced Air Mobility is headed.

It’s energizing to be in a room full of people who are not only thinking about tomorrow, today, but most of all actively shaping it. We spoke about real challenges and real opportunities. And I had the chance to share a bit of what drives us at LYNEports. How we’re helping both public and private stakeholders plan smarter, faster, and more efficiently when it comes to aerodrome infrastructure. Btw, not just vertiports anymore, but now all kinds of airside planning.

This industry is young, complex, and full of promise. But what popped out most during the event wasn’t just the tech, the engineering or the investment strategies. It was the passion and collaboration of the people behind it all.

Very far from being an aerospace engineer (I mean VERY far), I have learned quite a few things in the last 6 years. And that, in a sector that is 10+ years old in its current form, I guess makes me… well, some could say an experienced professional. And one of the things I’m more proud about what I shared is the fact that we should never forget why Aviation exists.

It’s not just about working around the laws of physics (which still feel like magic to me). It’s not just about the numbers, the protocols, the 10^-9 safety thresholds…

It’s the passion behind each and everyone that works in aviation.

Every body knows about the Wright brothers, and very few know about Samuel Pierpont Langley, despite him having more money, power, talented team… but the ones who made it into the history books in December 17th, 1903, were the Wright brothers. And what they had more of than Pierpont Langley was passion.

Of course this is not binary. It’s not either the laws of physics, the 10^-9… or passion. Just remember, without an absolutely insane amount of passion the equation will not work.
